Our club

Lions Club of Wantirna

Wantirna Lions is a local community service organisation, chartered in 1976, and located within the City of Knox in Victoria.

Our core focus is to help those in need within our local community. We also team up with other Lions clubs and similar organisations within Knox to tackle larger scale projects or specific needs.

We value and respect diversity. Our members come from all walks of life and bring a range of skills and perspectives.

Club members freely donate their time and labour to contribute to a range of local community welfare projects, youth, disaster relief, environment and international Lions projects. These projects are funded mostly by internal fundraising activities and occasional donations.

We are an incorporated organisation with a board of officers and strong financial governance. We thoroughly cost and plan each of our major projects well in advance to ensure our objectives are achievable and met.

Making a difference

Each of the service clubs within Australia is grouped by state and then into districts. There are five districts within Victoria, and we do great work in District 201V5, located within Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs, along with Healesville, Marysville, Eildon, Yea, Seymour, Nagambie, Euroa, Shepparton and Dookie.
