Being ready

The Lions organisation has over 2 million members worldwide and 24,000 in Australia. When we are called on to serve, as well as calling on our members to respond to a need, we may also need to access financial reserves.

Every club in Australia may hold some financial reserves, but clubs are required to expend monies and not build up reserves.

At our district level, clubs contribute to a District Disaster Relief Trust whose purpose is to hold, manage and disburse funds in the event of a natural disaster.

At a national level, clubs contribute to the Australian Lions Foundation whose purpose is to hold, manage and disburse funds to respond to Australian community needs as they arise (possibly disasters as well e.g. Lismore Floods).

At the international level, clubs contribute to the Lions Clubs International Foundation whose purpose is to hold, manage and disburse funds to respond to world needs as they arise (possibly disasters as well e.g. Turkey earthquake).
