The 201V5 DDRT was established in 1998 to provide help and assistance by way of short-term material and emergency aid for persons in need that have been affected by natural disasters within District 201V5.

Natural Disasters include: a major event brought about by a natural process of the earth that causes widespread destruction to property and loss of life. 

Such events include floods, bush fires, hurricanes, drought, earthquakes and landslides or any other situation nominated by the duly elected government as a Natural Disaster.
