Our club
Lions Club of Beaumaris
We are group of people united around our common desire to serve our community.
We run a number of regular Lions projects Youth of the Year, Peace Poster – check out the virtual gallery Beaumaris set up to support this district project at https://www.artsteps.com/view/5fefe7ee45d04672d8b005ff, Recycle for Sight and our district project, 123Read2Me, Lions Prostate Foundation and Lions Eye Health.
We keep our project funds topped up via our regular Friday BBQs at Bunnings Mentone (thanks Bunnings!). Pop around for a snag and a chat on the last Friday of the month if you would like to find out more about us.
We are active in supporting the community. You can see our members marshalling in the local triathlons and fun runs along Beach Road (we are the one jumping up and down and cheering the competitors on like crazy people), we participate in joint projects such as our local Neighbourhood Watch and Clean up Australia day.
Our club is also always proud to be part of the Lions network that moves quickly on the ground to support communities during disasters, providing whatever support we can, be that money or goods and Lions stick around with providing ongoing relief during the long rebuilding phase.
Our club embracing the new ways of doing things and these days in addition to our regular meetings and work in the community we keep in touch via our Facebook page and our podcast, between the Lions (you can find us on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTKaLNb7jK95Avj-eZ9bZ6g (we not that easy to find – few more likes and subscribes would fix that) or on your favourite podcast platform (look here for a subscribe link – https://www.buzzsprout.com/1870033)
Lions District 201V5
Making a difference
Each of the service clubs within Australia is grouped by state and then into districts. There are five districts within Victoria, and we do great work in District 201V5, located within Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs, along with Healesville, Marysville, Eildon, Yea, Seymour, Nagambie, Euroa, Shepparton and Dookie.
