We Serve
Serving the community
Since our inception, the Lions Clubs’ motto “We Serve” has been the lifeblood of our commitment to supporting the community. With the combined talents of our volunteers who commit their time,
money and skills, we transform the lives of others across the globe.
We’ve worked on some amazing projects which we support worldwide across five major causes; diabetes, vision, hunger, environment and childhood cancer. We also support other great humanitarian, disaster relief and youth supported programs through our international foundation, Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF).
Our goal is to put the needs of others first through sharing kindness and resources with those that need it most. We are creating a greater impact for the future as a legacy through foundations, projects, activities and initiatives.
District 201V5
Making a difference
Each club within Australia is grouped by state and then into districts. There are five districts within Victoria, and we do great work in District 201V5, located within Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs, along with Healesville, Marysville, Eildon, Yea, Seymour, Nagambie, Euroa, Shepparton and Dookie.
Support
Elevating communities
Although Lions Clubs support specific causes, each individual club is welcome to explore and do great work with causes they find value in and choose to support. Often districts combine their resources and volunteers across service projects.
At District 201V5, people always come first, which is why we personally deliver over two main service areas are:
- Service activities – Providing school breakfasts, disability support and more.
- Fundraising – Raising money for hearing dogs for those living with deafness or are hard of hearing, supporting recovery programs etc.
All our fundraising efforts go to the community; therefore, each Lion’s district pays for running its clubs.
